about the pathway

We are apart of the Academy of Arts & Communication at Waipahu High School. In the graphics pathway there is a high expectation of quality-produced work. The goal is to allow students to tap in to their creativity and produce tangible products such as: banners, mugs, totes, posters, stickers, laser-engraved signs, digital logos, and more. Additionally, students learn life-long skills that are transferable to any industry. Some of these skills include (but are not limited to): problem-solving, public speaking, critiques, peer collaboration, and proposal writing.

graphics 1

Students will learn the fundamentals of design such as the history, elements, and principles. They are introduced to Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop. Students are required to utilize the Design Thinking Process in their designing.

graphics 2

Students continue their studies in the foundations of design and gain added responsibility of maintaining and operating printing machines. At this level, students earn their industry-recognized certification.

directed studies

Directed studies students are responsible for handling client inquires and working closely with the client. Students are self-directed and expected to meet client-given deadlines and tangible products.

clients

our clients

We have worked with a number of clients on our school campus. The gallery below is a collection of some of our work born from team collaboration and client input. Read about their experiences with us!

mrs. brandy yagi, AIET AP

We LOVED working with Marauder Visuals! They were responsive and made everything SO SIMPLE. Most importantly, they took the time to understand who we are as an academy to design a logo that represents us.

kumu breanne aiu, hula

I asked the graphics class to create a logo/shirt design for my hula class because we wanted to make T-shirts. Ms. Edejer made the process of working with her and the students so easy! We met a few times to go over changes to the design, and she was very great about setting reasonable but quick deadlines for her students. The designs came out so awesome! Way better than I ever expected, and my hula students became very excited about getting the shirts. Thank you so much!

mrs. beth higashi, APPS AP

Working with the Marauder Graphics program was a wonderful opportunity. After pitching my design challenge to the students, they quickly provided me with preliminary sketches.  As a client, the students asked insightful questions to gain feedback on their designs.  I was able to go back and forth multiple times with the designers to create the perfect logo for our project.  The designers were patient, efficient and responsive to our program needs.
